Car from a Parallel Universe

In 1993, Gabriel Orozco made 'La DS', a modified Citroen DS car. Lengthways he cut the car into 3 parts and then removed the middle part. The two remaining parts were then joined together to create a slimmer version of the car.

The result is uncanny. The car is still recognisably a Citroen DS, but a very different Citroen DS. It is as if it had been made in a parallel universe where things were exactly as here but with slight modifications, adjustments. It's as if it was created in another version of our past, one that we can still recognise as familiar, yet with distinct differences.
